In a world where much Christian music sounds similar and rubberstamped, Lifetone are a breath of fresh air. Lifetone believe praise music should never be routine, so they push the boundaries and dive into the depths of God's word.

Featuring musicians from across the East Coast of Australia, Lifetone are a project gripped by the gospel of God's grace and the power of his Word. Brisbane raised songwriter, Wade Iedema is the force behind Lifetone, a project who aspire to make fresh praise music for the church of God. This is praise music with a difference, because Lifetone want their music to challenge the mind as well as impact the heart. It's music not just meant to be sung in church, but heard on the radio.

Their first album, Who hopes for what they always had? (released February 2007) is a surprising collection of songs that speak of hope beyond this world. As the opening track 'Salvation' soars from the speakers, you realise this is going to be a musical ride with a difference. Lifetone do not disappoint. From the pop-sensibilities of 'May my Life' to the epic stylings of 'Beautiful', their debut album is one to be savored, and, turned up loud.

Recorded sporadically over six months in the second half of 2006, Who hopes? was engineered by Paul Pilsneniks (Living End, Silverchair), mixed by Steve James (ARIA producer of the year 2000) and mastered by Leon Zervos (Third Day, Flyleaf). Not only is 'Who hopes?' a valuable resource for the church, it's an album that you'll want to listen to again and again.

REVIEWS:

CHRISTIANITY TODAY. COM:
"... captures the attention from the first track and doesn't let go until the final note is played.

The quality is indeed strong, but even more surprising is what Lifetone manages to do with the praise & worship genre. Rather than stick with tried-and-true sentiments expressed countless times before, the group pens thoughtful, original lyrics that stick with you for the long haul—imagine that."

SYDNEYANGLICANS.NET:
"Faith and dependence on the saving grace of God through Jesus shines out from virtually every song, from the opening anthem Salvation to the mellow finale Now My Eyes Have Seen You...

It’s the songwriting which really stands out in this album... Wade Iedema and company have put together a good mix of indie sound and solid lyrical foundations..."
